TCU cornerback and NFL Draft hopeful Jason Verrett used the combine stage to showcase his skills, like most prospects do. However, he also made an announcement: he had played most of his senior season with a shoulder injury.

Verrett will have surgery on the injury March 21, after TCU's on-campus pro day.  Last season, cornerback Dee Milliner followed a similar path, choosing to wait until after his pro day to undergo surgery.

The labrum is the area of the shoulder that separates the arm from the chest.  The upper labrum (Verrett tore the lower part) provides support to the area where the arm bone (humerus) meets the shoulder blade (scapula).

In football, the injury usually occurs when a sharp, sudden force impacts the top of the arm or dislocates it entirely. Verrett believes this happened to him during the Horned Frogs' game against Texas Tech.

Verrett is still supposed to be one of the top corners taken in this draft, and while the injury looks like it won't be too big an issue for now, it'll be something to watch as May 9 draws closer and closer.
